What we do

At the heart of Native Spun is a love for handweaving, textile design and color development. We create new products every day, so contact us if you don’t see something you love. Most constructions are available using either sustainably produced solution-dyed acrylic yarns for optimal performance or natural and organic fibers for the ultimate in comfort and peace of mind. Throw sizes can be customized to meet your application needs, and new styles can be created to match your design aesthetic.

Our Collections

Native Spun Heirloom Collection

Some yarns and fiber processes are so specialized and exacting that they are only possible in small batches. Our reclaimed Australian lambswool and European linen yarns are included in this category. Each throw from our heirloom collection requires a minimum of twelve hours of hands-on crafting, and no two throws are the same. Produced by a team of talented artisans and featuring hand-twisted and hand-knotted fringe, these throws are for people who love and appreciate textiles as much as we do.

Luxurious upholstery fabric and decorative throw pillows are also available in these stunning yarns and are made-to-order with reasonable minimums.

We recommend gentle spot cleaning or handwashing and air drying items to ensure a long life for all heirloom pieces. We want them to be around for the next generation to enjoy!

Native Spun Natural Collection

These scrumptiously cozy decorative throws are handwoven on our exclusive organic cotton warps. Grown in Texas and spun in North Carolina, our organic cotton is combed and ring spun to yield a yarn that is the ultimate in comfort, luxury, and peace-of-mind.

While much of the Native Spun Natural collection is 100% organic cotton, we also offer other natural fibers sourced from domestic yarn manufacturers or from high-end mills that have regrettably ceased to operate. We’ve rescued and reclaimed yarns curated for upscale upholstery and repurposed them for our luxury throw line. Including cotton boucle, cotton and wool roving wrap and hand-plied linens, the Native Spun Natural Collection delivers luxury, comfort and sustainability.

Most styles are machine washable, but we recommend handwashing and air drying our throws woven with protein fibers like wool or alpaca.

Native Spun Performance Collection

Meticulously handwoven using yarns engineered for fade-resistant outdoor durability, Native Spun Performance throws are luxurious enough for use as interior accents and durable enough to be used outdoors or in hospitality applications where colorfastness is critical. Made in the U.S.A. using 100% solution-dyed acrylic yarns, these throws are machine-washable, bleach-cleanable, and fade-resistant.

Performance throw widths vary by construction from 42 to 46 inches and can be made to custom lengths up to 120” to drape across the foot of a king bed. Hemmed and fringed end finishes are available.

All Native Spun Performance throws are machine washable, with bleach if needed, and can be commercially dried at temperatures up to 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

Responsible Packaging Movement

We joined the prAna Responsible Packaging Movement in the summer of 2020, and the movement now includes 100 plus brands. Each brand is encouraged to create its own goals around responsible packaging to align with the movement’s mission toward removing plastic packaging and virgin-forest-fiber packaging.

Our goals are to shine a light on our current use of single-use plastic and to involve our customers in our journey to remove it from all product packaging. Additionally, we will continue to source marketing and point-of-purchase materials made of recycled or responsibly harvested papers.

Our specific packaging goals are to:

  • Gain customer insights on packaging preferences and involve our customers in the process.

  • Promote the Responsible Packaging Movement through our social channels.

  • Significantly reduce single-use plastic from our eCommerce packaging beginning immediately.

  • Completely eliminate single-use plastic from our eCommerce packaging by June 30, 2023.

  • Encourage our retail partners to eliminate single-use plastic from their packaging requirements by December 31, 2023.

  • Source 100 percent of our fiber packaging from recycled material or from virgin wood fiber regions that are known to not be contributing to deforestation by 2023.
